Grey_SpectacularLogo_CMYKRangers is the Section for young women aged 14-18. We are all about fun and adventure and even more decision making than in the other three sections. For us, the sky is the limit! Think trips abroad, outdoor adventures and challenging current thinking! If you come into one or more of these categories, you are part of the Rangers family!

Rangers recently celebrated 100 years with exciting events and camps. Rangers also have the opportunity to take part in a number of great County-organised events – activities planned for this year include a ‘Night Hike and camp at Cudham’, ‘Gilwell 24 camp’ and a night out for pizza/visit to the musical ‘School of Rock’.

  • Rangers unit members – there are six Ranger units all over Girlguiding London South West so there is likely to be one near you! Some of us meet weekly, some of us meet every other week and others meet a few times a month; we even work around exams and school in the Summer Term! Our programme is based on themes including ‘Express Myself’, ‘Know Myself’, ‘Have Adventures’ and ‘Skills for my Future’.
  • Young Leaders if you are aged between 14 and 18 you can help out with a unit in another section. There is a great qualification you can work on with the support of a mentor. You will develop confidence and leadership skills and have great fun!
  • Peer educators – peer educators plan and run sessions for other units on sometimes difficult topics.
  • Duke of Edinburgh volunteers – you can work towards your Duke of Edinburgh Award through Girlguiding or with school and volunteer in a local unit. There is no obligation to complete your Young Leader Qualification but it can be a great way to improve on the skills you’ve learnt!

There is a dedicated national website with even more information about the opportunities available for Rangers here.
