{"id":145,"date":"2010-10-24T14:00:03","date_gmt":"2010-10-24T14:00:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.girlguidinglondonsw.org.uk\/wordpress\/?p=145"},"modified":"2011-03-01T18:31:18","modified_gmt":"2011-03-01T18:31:18","slug":"cudham-camp-2010","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.girlguidinglondonsw.org.uk\/index.php\/2010\/10\/24\/cudham-camp-2010\/","title":{"rendered":"Centenary Camp 2010"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-377\" style=\"border: black 1px solid;\" title=\"&quot;Ariel 100&quot;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.girlguidinglondonsw.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/CentenaryCamp_LSW-26-210x140.jpg\" alt=\"Lower site create &quot;ariel 100&quot;\" width=\"210\" height=\"140\" \/><strong>Cudham Centenary Guide Camp 31st July 2010<!--more--><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Battersea site at Cudham\u00a0was home to 37 London South West Guides and Young Leaders\u00a0and 6 adult\u00a0leaders for the week, here are some pictures of our time away!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-381\" style=\"border: black 1px solid;\" title=\"Centenary Campers!\" src=\"http:\/\/www.girlguidinglondonsw.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/CentenaryCamp_LSW-140-210x157.jpg\" alt=\"Centenary Campers\" width=\"210\" height=\"157\" \/>We had a jam packed week including a trip down to Brownsea Island (the site of the first Scout Camp in 1907)\u00a0where we did some\u00a0conservation work, caught some crabs and renewed our promises at the\u00a0commemorative\u00a0stone on the Island.\u00a0Two days<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-393\" style=\"border: black 1px solid;\" title=\"Promises at the stone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.girlguidinglondonsw.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/CentenaryCamp_LSW-155-copy-210x140.jpg\" alt=\"Promises at the stone\" width=\"210\" height=\"140\" \/> were\u00a0\u00a0spent\u00a0on site taking part in a wide range of activites including some back to basics &#8211; baking cakes in biscuit tins and some knotting, along with some crafts &#8211; making bracelets and mosaic tiles.\u00a0Another day was spent half up at Downe Scout Camp for zip wire, go karting, shooting, climbing and more, with the afternoon spent at Downe House &#8211; the former\u00a0 home of Charles Darwin. The evenings weren&#8217;t forgotton either, with a campfire, rounders <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" style=\"border: black 1px solid;\" title=\"Zip Wire\" src=\"http:\/\/www.girlguidinglondonsw.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/CentenaryCamp_LSW-105-210x140.jpg\" alt=\"Zip Wire\" width=\"210\" height=\"140\" \/>\u00a0tournament, X Factor competition and a huge opening and closing ceremony complete with flag procession and some input from Abba and Take That tributes!<\/p>\n<p>The Lower site also arranged a huge 100 out of all the campers lying <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-388 alignright\" style=\"border: black 1px solid;\" title=\"Brownsea Island Conservation\" src=\"http:\/\/www.girlguidinglondonsw.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/CentenaryCamp_LSW-148-210x140.jpg\" alt=\"Brownsea Island Conservation\" width=\"210\" height=\"140\" \/>down\u00a0and had an ariel photograph taken and made into a postcard to send home mid-week! Within Battersea site, London South West girls had tent flag competitions, helped with every aspect of &#8220;camp life&#8221; including helping to cook, collect wood, lay and clear the &#8220;table&#8221; and overall, have a fantastic week!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" style=\"border: black 1px solid;\" title=\"Battersea Site\" src=\"http:\/\/www.girlguidinglondonsw.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/CentenaryCamp_LSW-29-210x140.jpg\" alt=\"Battersea Site\" width=\"197\" height=\"122\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"border: black 1px solid;\" title=\"Craft Time!\" src=\"http:\/\/www.girlguidinglondonsw.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/CentenaryCamp_LSW-30-210x140.jpg\" alt=\"Craft Time!\" width=\"191\" height=\"122\"
