37 LSW Girls and Leaders had a fantastic time at the Cudham Centenary camp, now to look forward to Vision!
31st July – 7th August saw 31 Guides and Young Leaders with 6 leaders take over Battersea Site at Cudham as part of the Centenary Camp. A jam packed week of activities included a trip to Brownsea Island (where our County Commissioner and her team were controlling operations!), where the first Scout Camp was held, and activities from “Back to Basics”, crafts, a morning at Downe Scout Camp to take part in everything from shooting, climbing and zip wire!
The opening ceremony featured as many unit flags as could be brought to camp and a release of Chinese Sky Lanterns, followed by a “Take That” experience. The closing ceremony featured the finals of the “Cudham X Factor” competition (including a LSW girl in the 14+ age group!) and an Abba Extravaganza!
We also have our regular New Leader Drinks so new leaders can meet us and find out what we’re all about. The next New Leader drinks are to be held on Wednesday 27th October (in half term), get in contact via the email to the right if you are interested in coming along to informally find out about us.
Looking forward, we’ve got our Closing Ceremony on 20th October 2010 in Trafalgar Square. Part of the end celebration of our Centenary Year everybody from Rainbow to Trefoil is invited – more info to follow as the time approaches.
