Leaders' Section
This section is for leaders and volunteers working with units in our County.
All Girlguiding UK Leaders go through our own Leadership Qualification, part of which incorporates a First Aid Course which is then renewed every 3 years. While working though the Leadership Qualification members are allocated a mentor who will help them with any queries and assist with signing off each section. We also run training sessions throughout the year on all sections, first aid, camping and anything else you might want. See below for more details on training.
Within LSW we have a dedicated “Adult support” team – their role is:
- To Support Leaders by keeping them up to date with new programmes and new initiatives by means of training sessions; events and direct communication
- To support the Leadership Qualification Co-ordinator and her team in the administration of the Qualification and to provide training
- Support and provide training opportunities for Qualified Trainers and Prospective Trainers
New to Guiding?
If you’ve read this site from cover to cover and want to meet us in person in an informal way to get an idea of what we’re about, we organise a social event for all people that are new to Guiding 3 times a year; February / June / October (in half term holidays). These events are open to both exisiting members of the county and to anyone who is interested in finding out a bit more about what is involved. If you are interested in coming along, email us on info@girlguidinglondonsw.org.uk for location and timings.
Already Guiding in LSW and need a training session?
We run training sessions throughout the year on all sections, first response, camping and anything else you might want.
The list of planned trainings can be viewed from the link to the left and so you can simply pick the session you want and email training@girlguidinglondonsw.org.uk with your name, email, phone number and the session you want to take part in and we’ll put you on the list and send you exact location and times.
Please note that BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL as some sessions may need minimum numbers. If you have any queries or would like to suggest a subject for a training session then email training@girlguidinglondonsw.org.uk.
