We had an amazing weekend at Cudham for our County Camp – see the full article for details and pictures……..!

One of the staple ingredients of an English Bank Holiday in 2012 seems to be rain, and our Go for Gold weekend in May was no exception! However, we are a hardy bunch in LSW and we had a fantastic weekend with Parades, Chants, Inflatables, Campfire songs, BBQd doughnuts, a “scary” wide game in the forest and a whole host of other fun!

The Guides arrived on Saturday for an afternoon of creative activities themed around their given “country” and after dinner we held an opening ceremony with each country parading with their flag and chant! Sunday saw a day of activities and games culminating in the Guides cooking their own dinner on  BBQs. The Brownies had joined us on Sunday morning and had been busying themselves on Battersea Site with their activities. Sunday evening featured a huge campfire for all 256 Brownies, Guides, Senior Section and Leaders – you could hear us for miles!

Monday’s activity was “Its a Knockout” – 8 huge inflatables of varying challenges for the teams to compete in. Yes, and even the leaders had a go! By mid afternoon, the coaches had departed and as the clear up began, the sun came out! Some of LSW’s Guides may never believe Cudham has weather other than rain, but it does!

A huge thank you to Neva and her team of merry helpers who planned and ran the Camp. Now, who’s leading Cudham 2016?
