On Saturday 11th October, over half the brownies from Girlguiding London South West County descended on the Kia Oval Cricket Ground for the closing event of their Big Brownie Birthday!
The planning team had searched high and low for a special venue for the sleepover and were delighted when the Kia Oval embraced the prospect of 360 girls sleeping in their function rooms!
The event was themed around sports and exercise. The girls learned to street dance, took part in a range of fitness challenges run by the fabulous team from Fit for Sport, made sports related crafts and everyone had a commemorative photo taken in front of the England team photo.
A fantastic time was had by all – although not a lot of sleep!
There was a great media response to the event with two brownies and a leader doing a live interview on BBC Radio London the morning after.
