We were very lucky to be awarded a grant from the British Science Association to deliver Crest awards to our young members.
We had 2 Rainbow units and 3 Brownie units take part, about 100 young people. The Rainbows completed the STAR awards and the Brownies completed SUPERSTAR awards. They took part in 8 activities across the summer term and got a badge and certificate at the end.
The grant also funded a Guide Discovery Crest Award day. We had 30 Guides sign up to attend our Machine Learning Discovery Award day. They learnt about how machines learn to predict your next steps and we had a volunteer talk about her career working for a technology company based across the world. We finished the day designing a product using machine learning to help us in the future.
